Samsung Steel Review
Samsung Steel
User Rating: The Steel is Samsung’s entry level phone, and is a pretty good phone all round. It has a lovely steel finished body, and looks more like a premium phone, but rest assured it is entry level. So if you’re looking for a cheaper phone with decent features, this is worth a look. It’s a simple slide-mechanism phone, with a generous screen size of 2.2 inches across, and with an easy-to-use functional keypad. It’s pretty solid as well, and feels good in your hand, so it ticks most of the aesthetic boxes, and it functions simply too.
It has a very good high speed HSDPA feature for quick download speeds, and has a better camera than you’d expect at this price range; a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, unfortunately it doesn’t feature a flash, so you’ll have to take your photos during the day or in light rooms.
Unfortunately, it does have a few bugs, and has been known to crash occasionally, and doesn’t have the best battery life around.
This is a very good phone for its price; the features you get, as well as the look of the phone means you’re getting an attractive premium style phone at entry level prices. For that reason this should be considered a good buy and very good value for money. As mentioned it does have a few problems, but if you don’t mind charging it every other day, and having no flash on your camera, then this should definitely be a serious consideration when shopping for a cheaper phone.
Summary:
- Good Points: Very attractive, good camera, value for money.
- Bad Points: No flash on the camera, pretty poor battery life and it has been known to freeze.
- Others to Consider: Nokia N95, Sony Ericsson W995.
- Free on Contract with: Vodafone Exclusive.
