Samsung S8000 Jet Review
Samsung S8000 Jet
User Rating: This stunning new touchscreen offering from Samsung, is marketed as a super-quick 3G phone, because “impatience is a virtue”... apparently. To be honest, this phone is everything that has come to be expected of Samsung phones; it’s sleek, sophisticated, easy to use, and it is quick, so no claims for false advertising then. The screen is moderately smaller than other similar phones available, but it is still a healthy 3.1 inches, and the AMOLED display means that everything can be viewed in high quality, and finishes of the all-round stunning appearance of this phone.
As for the features, this phone has a decent 5 megapixel camera, which has become the standard for the majority of new mid-range phones. It also features a secondary front-mounted VGA camera, positioned just above the screen, allowing for video calling/conferencing.
As expected, this phone contains all the built-in features that have come to be expected from the modern phone; the GPS, a digital compass and a very good music player. However, it is the high speed internet access, and upload and download speeds that this model really prides itself on.
If, as the advert suggests, you are someone who “hates to wait” and needs things now, then this phone is the ideal for you. There is a risk with such phones that they can be purely gimmick phones, but it’s not true of this phone, it’s solid across the board, and is truly, a very good phone.
Summary:
- Good Points: Its selling point; the high-speed access.
- Bad Points: If there’s a fault, the camera’s not as good as some similar phones.
- Others to Consider: Samsung Tocco Ultra S8300, LG Viewty GC900.
- Free on Contract with: Orange, T-Mobile & Vodafone.
