Another breakthrough for Samsung, and yet another beautiful touchscreen phone. This is the first phone to boast, incredibly, a HD camcorder. It also has the largest OLED screen available on any phone, as well as the potential for an incredible 48gb of memory. This phone is absolutely cutting edge, and it looks pretty snazzy to boot.

It has a screen at 3.7 inches across, which is massive by phone standards, and it weighs about the same as an iPhone, which has been proven to be acceptable (and for all you’re getting, it’s the least you can expect). It’s made from quality metals, plastics and glass as well, so really looks the part.

Its major feature is the aforementioned HD camcorder, the first phone to have this feature, on top of this the 8 megapixel camera means you’ll be taking quality pictures as well. It has all the latest photo gadgets too; face detection, smile detection, blink detection and panoramic. This means it is closer to the dedicated digital cameras than ever before.

It has a very good music player, with impressive connectivity as well, so it’s by no means a one trick pony, and with built-in memory of either 8 or 16gb, it’s impressive enough, without the fact that it can accept a further 32gb with a memory card, giving it potentially 48gb of memory. No phone can equal that right now.

This phone is truly impressive, the battery will probably need regular charging, but with all of its incredible features, it’s a small sacrifice to make. This could well be the phone of 2009.

Summary:

  • Good Points: It’s a groundbreaking phone; HD Camcorder, biggest screen, biggest potential memory, great camera etc...
  • Bad Points: Pretty flawless, charging it regularly might be slightly annoying, but a small price to pay in truth.
  • Others to Consider: LG Viewty GC900, Apple iPhone.
  • Free on Contract with: Orange.
