As expected by now with LG, the Viewty GC900 (Viewty 2) is a beautiful phone, perfectly formed, with large ultra high resolution display of 480x800 pixels, and a screen that measures 3 inches across. Like the Arena, it has the cube based interface to access the features, and is as such very easy to use, but also rather unique in appearance.

Unlike the Arena before it, the Viewty has got a state of the art 8 megapixel camera, with numerous features; first there is the intelligent feature that compares potential pictures against desirable scenarios, whilst taking to help capture the “perfect photo,” the camera also features a high quality Schneider Kreuznach lens. With this camera it can easily compete with the best camera phones available.

The music player is decent and supports all formats of music files so is ideal as an mp3 as well. The phone contains an in-built memory of 1.5gb, but that can be added to with a memory card, bringing the overall memory up to a fantastic 32gb.

As expected with a phone with this many features, the battery capacity is low, but again that’s a small price to pay for such a brilliant phone.

LG have surpassed themselves and improved upon the Arena notably. Additions of camera, screen resolution, GPS and WiFi, combined with the features that they kept, the music player, and all round appearance of the phone make this an absolutely ideal phone for the modern person. It really does have everything, and is just brilliant.

Summary:

  • Good Points: Great camera, simple interface, and stunning appearance.
  • Bad Points: The battery life will inevitably be short lasting, so will need charging regularly.
  • Others to Consider: Apple iPhone, Samsung Tocco Ultra S8300.
  • Free on Contract with: O2, T-Mobile & 3.
