HTC Touch HD Review
HTC Touch HD
User Rating: This is another good looking phone from HTC, who have been producing increasingly good phones recently. HTC’s touchscreen phones have been getting better as well, and are now getting closer to the industry big-boys, such as Samsung, LG and Apple. This phone is a really nice looking phone, it’s a tad large, but then it does have to accommodate a luxury 3.8 inch high quality screen. With such a sizeable screen, it allows much more room to navigate through the features; there are no clumsy manoeuvrings on this phone. This is helped by having a particularly easy to use interface, and it’s fairly quick to boot, making use of the now common HSDPA technology to bolster access speeds, in particular, when surfing the web. It should be fairly familiar to Microsoft users as well, making use, as it does, of Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1, this means that Microsoft Office applications can be used through the phone as well, which is useful if you need to work on the go.
It has a decent 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, and with its HD screen, it can be guaranteed that any photos taken will look great. It has decent memory as well, 512mb in-built, with the standard option to add 2gb of memory with a microSD memory card.
HTC have really been catching up in style in the past couple of years, and have excelled in the touchscreen market, they’re not always everyone’s first choice when looking for a new phone, but this phone is further proof that they shouldn’t be overlooked.
Summary:
- Good Points: The luxury ample screen is striking.
- Bad Points: There are phones available with better available memory.
- Others to Consider: HTC Hero, Apple iPhone, Samsung Omnia i900.
- Free on Contract with: Orange & O2.
