HTC Touch Diamond 2 Review
HTC Touch Diamond 2
User Rating: HTC have produced another very good phone in the Touch Diamond 2, which is, as the name suggests, a touchscreen phone, and is another attempt to get their name out there in the increasingly competitive touchscreen market. This phone has a decent 3.2 inch screen, with a good 480x800 pixel resolution, so the screen is as good as the majority of similar handsets out there. However, at 117.5g, it is a little hefty, not enough to make it a problem though. The Touch Diamond 2, like a lot of HTC’s handsets, makes use of a fully functioning touchscreen interface, with a few buttons for quick access to home and menus, and easy call and answer buttons too. Despite the easy to use buttons, navigating your way around the touchscreen interface is a little tricky and awkward at first, and takes some getting used to.
However, this is really the main bad point, if you’re patient, it shouldn’t cause too much hassle. This phone has a decent 512mb of memory, but that can be expanded up to 8gb with a microSD card. That should prove plenty of storage for your notes, and photos taken on the built-in 5 megapixel camera, which is decent, but despite having autofocus technology, there is no flash, which is a little disappointing.
This is a pretty decent phone in general, but it does have some disappointing features, having said that, it does have decent battery life, good memory, and a decent screen. Overall, this phone balances its good and bad points, but perhaps isn’t as good as some of the high-end phones available in the touchscreen market.
Summary:
- Good Points: Good battery life and a decent memory.
- Bad Points: A camera without a flash is disappointing, and the interface takes some getting used to.
- Others to Consider: Apple iPhone, Samsung Omnia i900.
- Free on Contract with: Orange, T-Mobile & O2.
