HTC Magic Review
HTC Magic
User Rating: HTC are making some pretty decent phones right now, and are beginning to get noticed in the market, the Magic is just another in handset in this vain; attractive to look at, and practical to use. This fairly lightweight hand-set, comes with an ample 3.2 inch screen, which is average size for touchscreen phones right now, and allows for plenty of room to navigate the touchscreen interface, and makes viewing web pages, photos and videos in high quality, easy. Unfortunately, with such a nice screen to view photos, the camera is pretty disappointing; only 3.2 megapixels, with autofocus but no flash, only allows for decent photos in daylight, or otherwise well-lit rooms.
As for the phone’s memory capacities, well, it possesses a somewhat disappointing 192mb built-in, but that can be upped to 2gb, with the attachment of the now obligatory microSD card; this should prove to be ample storage room for the average mobile phone user.
This 3G phone has the important HSDPA technology for quick uploading and downloading of information; alongside the extra WLAN Wi-Fi, allowing access to the internet in most places, this phone has most peoples technology needs covered.
There is also a decent MP3 player available as well, and on top of everything there is a fully functioning document viewer allowing documents to be saved in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and PDF formats.
Overall, this is a decent enough phone, but in all honesty, it is a tad disappointing.
Summary:
- Good Points: It has an ample screen and the document viewer is useful too.
- Bad Points: The camera’s not great, and the built-in memory is disappointing.
- Others to Consider: HTC Touch Diamond 2, BlackBerry 9500 Storm.
- On Contract with: Vodafone.
